Boyolali The fifth day of the PDCup basketball tournament at Pradita Dirgantara Highschool concluded on Thursday (15/6/2023). Four Central Javanese high school boys' teams battled for the 3rd to 1st place: SMA Insan Cendekia Sukoharjo (IC), SMA 11 Semarang, SMA Warga, and SMK St. Mikael Surakarta.

SMA Insan Cendekia Sukoharjo vs SMA 11 Semarang

In the contest for 3rd place, SMA 11 Semarang showcased their star players, Xavier and Yoga. Xavier, occasionally taking on the point guard role, led his team to a 77–68 victory over SMA IC Sukoharjo.

The boys' basketball team from SMA 11 Semarang has consistently demonstrated a solid and surprising performance. Under the guidance of Purno Darmanto, this team even clinched the first-place title in the 3on3 Livia competition in Yogyakarta last year.

SMA Warga vs SMK Santo Mikael Surakarta

On the other hand, the boys' basketball team from SMK Santo Mikael (Mico) secured the championship title after defeating SMA Warga Surakarta (Swarga) in the final match. This echoed the intensity of Solo League 2022, where Mico triumphed over Swarga at GOR Sritex, Solo.

In this match, Mico fielded one of their star players, Halmaheranno Aprianto Lolaru (Rano), who successfully made it into the DBL All-Star training camp in the United States of America this season.

Course Match

Throughout the match, Mico's players displayed aggressive gameplay. Despite a close score early on, Rano and his team closed the first quarter with a score of 17- 9. The spirit of Mico's players was further fueled by the support of hundreds of Micomania 1962 fans. Swarga's supporters, known as Bradasista 1960, were equally fervent.

Mico's dominance continued. In the second quarter, the game became even more intense. Swarga fought hard to narrow the gap. Although Zaky and his team managed to score significantly (Swarga's point guard), Mico ended the second quarter with a score of 35 – 24.

Entering the third quarter, Swarga began to tire. Their physical exertion was evident from their previous match, where they worked hard to defeat SMA 11 Semarang with a score of 61-53 on Tuesday (13/6/2023). In this third quarter, Swarga fell further behind with a score of 53-38.

The fourth quarter, which was the final round, Mico confidently secured the championship title. Although Swarga's players executed some beautiful lay-up shots, the Serigala Mojo (SMK St. Mikael's basketball team's nickname) managed to close the score at 70-54. SMK St. Mikael ultimately earned the title of champion.

In this final match, SMA St. Mikale's player, Rano, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Rano earned this title through his impressive performance throughout the PDCup. The MVP title is awarded to the player who is deemed to have made the greatest contribution and displayed the best performance throughout the competition.
