Motivational Session with Wishnutama Kusubandio

Students from Pradita Dirgantara High School had a meeting with Wishnutama Kusubandio, former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, via Zoom on Monday, May 3, 2021. With nearly 26 years of experience in the creative industry and his studies in the United States, he shared his experiences and helped students make the best decisions for studying abroad.

Wishnutama mentioned that he graduated from the Mount Ida College Communication Faculty in Boston, USA, but admitted that he gained most of his knowledge about the TV industry from Emerson College. He started his career from the ground up, working as a Production Assistant at New England Cable News for the U.S. and as an Assistant Director for On Air Promotion at WHDH TV in Boston. Meanwhile, he learned about discipline and "esprit de corps" spirit during his studies at the Military College of Vermont, at Norwich University through The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

"The most frequently associated benefit of ROTC is scholarship programs. ROTC offers a large number of scholarships that can be applied for by high school and college students," he said.

During college, Wishunatama explained, you pursue your chosen academic major. Students take ROTC classes in addition to those required to earn your degree. Typically, students are expected to take one ROTC academic course along with a leadership lab each semester. After graduating and successfully completing the program, you will be commissioned into the Air Force or Army as a Second Lieutenant.
