On Friday, March 26, 2021, Pradita Dirgantara High School hosted a thought- provoking talk show via Zoom, tackling the theme "Tips for a Successful and Fulfilling Future: Empowering the Centennial Generation Through Self- Preparation." The event was graced by the Yasarini Central team, the entire academic community of Pradita Dirgantara High School, and around 1000 Zoom participants. The talk show aimed to explore knowledge that broadens horizons and fuels the pursuit of dreams, while also delving into strategies for achieving one's aspirations.
The two-hour talk show featured five exceptional speakers, predominantly from the centennial generation: Haniifah Anjani P, MD, an esteemed graduate from the Faculty of Medicine, UGM; First Lieutenant Pnb Handika. R. Bima Y, Bachelor of Applied Defense Sciences, a Flight Officer from the 15th Air Squadron, Iswahyudi Airbase; Muhammad Hudiya A, a Mechanical Engineering scholar at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen - Germany; Nadya Carolina, S.Si, a representative from Tokopedia's Insight category; and IPDA Yulwido Adi, Bachelor of Engineering, Pama Weapon Testing Sub Division at Police Technology Laboratory Section Republic of Indonesian National Police Research and Development.
The Centennial Generation, often referred to as Generation Z, encompasses those born between 1995 and 2010. This generation has come of age alongside the rapid advancement of digital technology. Navigating this digital era offers both conveniences and challenges, particularly for young individuals who grapple with questions about their careers, dreams, and goals.
Haniifah Anjani P, MD, shared her journey, emphasizing that her current position was not attained without struggle. She emphasized the power of resilience, highlighting that rising from failure is a greater feat than never attempting at all.
"In our pursuit of dreams, we must maintain our vigor and focus. I firmly believe that those who rise after falling are stronger than those who never try," affirmed Haniifah.
Motivation plays a pivotal role in one's journey, acting as a catalyst for overcoming setbacks and igniting enthusiasm. Nonetheless, there are moments when individuals may find their zest for life dwindling. First Lieutenant Pnb Handika R. Bima Y, S.Tr (Han), offered insights on navigating these moments of waning motivation.
"My initial step is revisiting my earlier dreams. I recollect the arduous journey towards realizing my ambition of becoming a pilot. It was far from easy. Additionally, while many aspire to become fighter pilots, not everyone can fulfil that dream. Alhamdulillah, I was granted the opportunity, and it shouldn't be squandered," advised First Lieutenant Pnb Handika R. Bima.
Muhammad Hudiya emphasized the importance of crafting plans to bring our dreams to fruition. "Preparing multiple plans, not just Plan A and Plan B, but having several contingencies in place ensures that when we encounter roadblocks, we don't flounder, wondering, 'What should we do now?' If, for instance, one approach falters, we already have an alternate path mapped out. This ensures we stay on course toward our ultimate goal," explained Muhammad Hudiya. Nadya further emphasized that unwavering focus and belief in one's abilities are paramount in the pursuit of dreams.
In conclusion, IPDA Yulwido underscored the mounting challenges facing future generations. With the rise of technological sophistication, many human occupations are being supplanted by robots. Yet, Yulwido identified three irreplaceable human capabilities: creativity, adaptability, and the ability to communicate effectively in public. These, he asserted, are the essential skills for today's rapidly evolving world. (Public Relations/Pradita Dirgantara High School)
