Extravagant Hair Cutting Fiesta: Pradita Dirgantara High School Shatters MURI Records Pradita Dirgantara High School has set astounding MURI records, with 2,440 participants getting haircuts in Surabaya in 2018. The school also broke the record for the largest number of barbers in Indonesia, with 300 in Bekasi in 2019.
A total of 3,775 individuals took part in the free offline and online haircutting event which was organized by Pradita Dirgantara High School on Sunday, May 28, 2023. This community celebration involved 1,000 barbers and 5,000 people getting their haircut simultaneously across Indonesia. The mass haircutting event unfolded at Pamedan Mangkunegaran, located in the heart of Solo.
The haircutting fiesta is a highlight of the Carnival of Education, Art, and Culture hosted by Pradita Dirgantara High School , generously supported by Yasarini, the Ministry of National Land Agency of Republic Indonesia, Ladara Private Company, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the City of Solo. Alongside the haircutting spree, there was a two-day exhibition of micro, small, and medium enterprises (SME) and dynamic performances by bands like Tri Suaka, Nabila, Topik Sudirman, and others from May 27 to 28, 2023.
A.P. Tarigan, CEO of Pradita Dirgantara High School, emphasized that haircut is an integral part of Pradita's culture. "Every 2 weeks to 1 month, male students at Pradita are required to get haircuts. This instills discipline, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for their future," stated Tarigan, who himself joined in for a haircut.
According to Tarigan, being a barber is a unique profession. Regardless of one's status, when you sit in a barber's chair, you must trust them completely.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Solo, Teguh Prakosa, expressed his special appreciation for the students of Pradita Dirgantara High School who dared to hold an event on a national scale.
"Hats off to the Pradita students for organizing the CEAC 2023 event. I heard there was also a national science olympiad and other competitions," said Teguh during the opening.
According to Teguh, the fantastic haircutting party and SME exhibition organized by Pradita Dirgantara High School also contribute to the acceleration of economic growth in the city of Solo. "Just take a look, from SME entrepreneurs to small vendors, even the parking attendants, everyone gathers here at Mangkunegaran," Teguh pointed out.
