Pradita Dirgantara High School Becomes the First IELTS Center in Central Java

Boyolali Pradita Dirgantara High School has officially become a registration and official testing point for both computer- based (on computer) and paper-based (on paper) IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exams. This IELTS Centre is the result of a collaboration with the British Council Indonesia, which was initiated in November 2021. The official partnership agreement was signed by the Chair of the Yayasan Ardhya Garini (Yasarini) Foundation, Ny. Inong Fajar Prasetyo, along with James Cleere, Chair of the British Council Indonesia Foundation, on Monday, September 5, 2022.

Dwi A. Yuliantoro, the Director of Development at Pradita Dirgantara High School, stated that the IELTS Centre will not only benefit the Pradita Dirgantara High School community but will also provide opportunities for the wider public.

"The IELTS test is one of the language proficiency tests often required for academic purposes, especially for anyone looking to pursue further studies abroad. We also want to facilitate the community, especially the younger generation who are aware of the increasing need for English language proficiency," expressed Dwi on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Dwi further pointed out that the IELTS Centre at Pradita Dirgantara High School has its own advantages, being the only test centre in Central Java that is integrated within an educational institution (school).

"Twice, graduating students' interest in studying abroad has increased. The entrance exams for Pradita Dirgantara High School are also entirely in English. So, this IELTS Centre addresses both internal needs and positive opportunities for the wider community," added Dwi.

Dwi also emphasized that the test centre established at Pradita Dirgantara High School is the result of a collaboration with the British Council Indonesia. Apart from serving as a test centre, according to Dwi, the British Council can act as a bridge connecting students or scholars in Indonesia with universities in the UK.

Moreover, with the existence of this test centre, students at Pradita Dirgantara High School will be better prepared to take the IELTS test or what is commonly known as IELTS Preparation. This includes understanding what needs to be prepared for the test, managing test time, and comprehending the test format.

Pradita Dirgantara High School's commitment to supporting the IELTS Test Centre is demonstrated by providing a dedicated test room with a capacity of 100 people, equipped with soundproofing to ensure participants are not disturbed by any external noises during the test. In addition to the dedicated test room, there will also be two speaking rooms and a training room with a capacity of 15 people.

The IELTS Centre at Pradita Dirgantara High School will serve both on-paper and on-computer tests. The fees for taking the IELTS test at Pradita Dirgantara High School are exactly the same as those listed on the official website of the British Council Foundation, covering IELTS Life Skills – in centre (A1 and B1), IELTS Academic for UKVI – in centre (paper or computer), and IELTS General Training for UKVI – in centre (paper or computer).
