The Essay Writing Competition is an essay writing competition in English which is held annually by the University of Melbourne Australia through Trinity College for grade IX SMP to XI high school students throughout Indonesia. 2020 is the 11th year of Trinity College’s essay writing competition. According to one of the judges in the announcement of the winners which was held online, the enthusiasm of the participants this year was extraordinary. There are about 500 essays submitted in the competition. In the competition, participants must write an essay with a rule of less than 500 words with the theme: “If you could have a conversation with any famous person past of present, who would you choose to meet and why?”

“Participating in the Indonesia Essay Writing Competition 2020 organized by Trinity College and The University of Melbourne, Australia has its own impression for me,” said Ratu. He also said that when the winner was announced, he was shocked. “Frankly, I did not think that I would win second place in this competition,” he added. In the essay writing competition entitled “If we have the opportunity to meet someone we admire, what do we want to convey”, Ratu feels that the topic of her essay is very challenging because she must be able to convey ideas in an essay that has a limit of 500 words. “With this theme, I chose to express Anne Frank’s experience during the second world war with the current pandemic conditions, where we have to hide from the COVID-19 disease,” said the Queen. “This achievement certainly cannot be separated from the support of schools, families and prayers”, he concluded.

On this occasion the Principal of SMA Pradita Dirgantara, Dr. Yulianto Hadi. M.M., also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the Queen. “The ability to write essays is one of the skills that SMA Pradita Dirgantara students must have to prepare for their further studies and their future.
